The Other Side of Vivid – Panoramas…

A less known aspect of Vivid Sydney this year is the move to include some Vivid magic on the north side of the harbour (in North Sydney) as well as on the western side of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
You can’t really see any of this from the city/circular quay but if you head over to Luna Park or Blues Point you can see the lighting on the bridge itself.
Before heading into the city to check out this years Vivid my girls and I first headed down to Blues Point to scope it out – this was taken at 5:25PM (about half an hour after sunset but half an hour before the lights for Vivid Sydney started – plus with a full moon behind the bridge – tricky) and is a panorama stitch of seven (7) frames taken with the 16-35/4 @ 35mm, 15 seconds @ f/11 and ISO 100
Note: These photographs (especially the wider shots) look much better when larger – so click any of the images below to see larger versions in an inline overlay slideshow gallery viewer.
Before
Later that night when we’d finished in the city we returned briefly to see the Bridge (and Opera House, Pyrmont and city buildings) all multicoloured lit up at night.
This one taken at 9PM (in the rain – sigh… my daughters did a great job holding the umbrella over me and my camera whilst I completed the sequence) and again a panorama stitch of seven (7) frames taken with the 16-35/4 @ 35mm, 30 seconds @ f/8 and ISO 100
