Leaving Karijini…

It was with some regret that today we were leaving Karijini national park. It had been a busy but wonderful five days exploring the various gorges in this amazing part of Australia.
Leaving Karijini
At 8:30AM we were packed and on our way towards the coast.
Note: These photographs (especially the wider shots) look much better when larger – so click any of the images below to see larger versions in an inline overlay slideshow gallery viewer.
We stopped briefly to allow me to take a few shots from the car looking across the beautiful and colourful landscape towards the impressive hills of Mount Bruce which is the second highest peak in Western Australia.

We had morning tea at Paraburdoo (the closest airport to Karijini if you ever decide to fly up this way and visit).
We were heading eastwards towards the coast. We’d originally intended to stop and stay the night at Beasley River Rest Area but we’d made it there far too early so we continued a long way past till we got to Barradale Rest Area for the night.
