Running the height of the hotel we were staying at in Barcelona for the first half of our stay (El Avenida Palace Hotel) was this very old school almost spiral staircase.

We were staying on the seventh floor so fortunately lifts were also an option :).

Girls with a View

We were away on our first ever European vacation. None of us had ever been to Europe before so we began our journey in Barcelona Spain.

After a very long flight via Dubai we arrived in Barcelona quite late (local time) and were at our hotel in the heart of the city around 9:30PM.

Still we all awoke early so that we could watch the sunrise over the city. We had an amazing view from our hotel with near 360° views of the Barcelona skyline.

The wide panorama shows an approximately 200° view from the hills to the northwest around to the ocean to the southeast.

Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes

We were staying at the El Avenida Palace Hotel which is right in the centre of town on Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes.

We also had a great view of the famous Gaudi church La Sagrada Familia (which we would be visiting one day soon).
