One Tree

Looking straight down onto this lovely bare tree (it’s winter :)) in the front yard of the property we’re staying at. This is actually the circular drive in front of the house. But it makes for an interesting top down shot

Mt Canobolas

As I was staying at our friends farm it afforded me the opportunity to fly my new drone for a view towards a distant Mount Canobolas

I’d purchased my DJI Mavic 2 Pro specifically for a forthcoming trip around half of Australia (predominantly the Northern Territory and northern WA). I hadn’t really had any opportunities to fly it yet so it was good to get a little practice and familiarity in
With an elevation of 1,395 metres above sea level, Mount Canobolas, an extinct volcano, is the highest mountain in the region. Situated 13 kilometres southwest of the city of Orange, it is about 250 kilometres west of Sydney
The summit is the location of a number of TV and radio transmission towers as well as aircraft navigation facilities

Some nice silhouettes and reflections possible at the entrance to Verandah cave in Borenore Karst Conservation Reserve. Time to reflect as the girls were leaving to head back home. Just as they were about to cross the stream via a tricky set of slippery stepping stones 🙂

My youngest daughter and I have been visiting friends who have moved to country NSW. They now have a small farm outside of Orange and their property backs onto the Borenore Karst Conservation Reserve
The Borenore Caves, contained within the Conservation Reserve, are a series of limestone caves. The caves are renowned for their karst qualities, namely the numerous fossils from a long-lived reef complex from the Silurian era
The kids and I went out for a walk to check out the nearest of the caves. This is Verandah Cave, a large limestone overhang protecting large pools of water
