Kununurra Dawn
Mystique
by Rodney Campbell on Aug.23, 2019, under Life, Photography
The pre-dawn (twilight) shots taken before the sun rose were amazing. The purple and pink light with a soft glow across the land was truly epic
I’m blown away with just how well the Mavic 2 Pro camera performs even in this relatively low light
The stitched panorama’s I’m posting during this trip are actually the automatic JPEG versions created onboard the drone. Whilst I do get the drone to also save the individual RAW files it captures. So I can theoretically stitch and edit them in more depth later on. So far I’ve been happy enough with the in camera JPEG’s

Rising Elephant

I’m back on the south side of elephant rock for sunrise take #2
I’d mentioned previously that whilst very pleased with how the shots had turned out from the previous morning… I’d wished I’d shot from closer and from a lower angle for a more “impressive” perspective
So this morning I did just that…
Many vary favourable images ensued…

Mirima National Park, also commonly known as Hidden Valley is on the edge of town at Kununurra

This is a hidden gem of the region. Offering a sample of those beehive rock formations made famous at the Bungle Bungles (Purnululu)
In this case however this is a short 5 minute drive on bitumen from town rather than an excruciating multi hour slog on rough dirt tracks to get to the bungles 🙂

Elephant Rock @ Sunset
by Rodney Campbell on Aug.21, 2019, under Life, Photography
Elephant Rock is a large rock formation on the edge of town, officially known as Carlton Ridge but nicknamed locally both Elephant Rock and The Sleeping Buddha due to its shape and size
My parents allowed me to take them to the other side of Elephant Rock this time to shoot sunset over the Ord River with the drone
Speeding By
Got a very lucky break with this shot. A speedboat was coming down the river at just the right time and in the exactly the right spot for me
