Clustered
Encompass

Still very early morning (just pre dawn). I’ve stacked a 4-stop ND with the CPL to lengthen the exposures to smooth the water. The fog is still hugging the hills around us but alas not drifting down onto the water
Encompass
Using a longer focal length on the handy new Z 24-200 lens allows some more selective compositions with a little compression of the background

Lake Windamere 180

This is what Lake Windamere looks like from the skies above. A 180˚ stitched panorama from 21 frames (three rows of seven frames) taken with the DJI Mavic 2 Pro at the end of our morning session there

Pre Dawn at Lake Windamere
by Rodney Campbell on Aug.11, 2020, under Life, Photography
Back at Lake Windamere before dawn for an early morning shoot. It was incredibly foggy in town where we were staying, on most of the drive here and on the hills surrounding the lake. However down here on the lake… nothing… it figures 🙂
Blue and Gold
Anyway a long exposure for some early twilight colour (to the naked eye it was basically dark) and some light painting of the trees to reveal and warm them

Wretched
Perched

I headed out to Lake Windamere in rural NSW for an overnight shoot organised by the Focus Photography group
Perched
It’s a little over 3 hours drive from Sydney and it rained relentlessly on the drive there so I wasn’t hopeful for our planned sunset that evening nor the sunrise the next morning
Miraculously however the rain held off soon after arriving, though the 100% overcast skies put off all thoughts of a colourful sunset or the promised fog 🙂

We did however get to recce the location. Here’s a seven (7) frame stitched longe exposure panorama (using the 6 stop Lee LittleStopper). When we first arrived this tree had a host of pelicans perched on the various branches, though only two stayed around for some photos…
