It’s a bit Grim

It’s a bit Grim
The Grim had to come out at some stage :). Gerry has a number of these loaded on his pixel stick – this being our preferred grim. The flames were also created with the stick (used in a non traditional manner)
This composite is the blend of a few exposures – one for the EL wire work and a couple for the grim and the fire

Three
Another from our light painting extravaganza. This one a set of three domes with Gerry’s preferred not too overlapping wiggles 🙂
This image all in one long eight minute take

The Domed Kingdom
Gerry and I headed out into Lane Cove National Park for a little light painting refresher
You’ve already seen our last two shots of the night, so here is one of the much earlier works
Here we’re doing a first tester of one of the domed things we havn’t done in ages, along with Gerry’s nice dark green EL wire on the ground. My green EL was much brighter but much more flouro limey in colour
We “could” have done all of this in one take but alas we ended up just doing the various tester bits and no “final take”. So I had to merge the bits in post (which is a pain and why we’d rather just get it right in camera in the field). The result is a blend of four exposures – one for the dome, one for the EL and two for some lighting in the trees

V for Victory

V for Victory
and in the interests of equality here’s my take on the same scene Gerry posted last night
We have light painting victory – a single shot all done in one take (318 seconds – around five and a half minutes). No photoshop or image blending trickery here
One Scene Two Takes
In the side by side – on the left Gerry is the “model” and I’m light painting and lighting him. In the later shot on the right I’m the “model” and Gerry is lighting me. The cool fire effect in mine is with Gerry’s pixel stick. No National Parks were harmed or destroyed in the creation of said art 🙂
Grim reapers and other assorted strangeness to come… 🙂
