Vertical Turbulence
“Turbulence” by artist Richard Goodwin at Sculpture by the Sea, Bondi 2022
With some added light painting touches whilst waiting to look at doing some star trails
Here I’ve done green EL wire along with some selective lighting from 90˚ to each side of the bikes. For the lighting on the bikes I’ve used my new Convoy Z1 zoomable torch. For this torch I ordered it with the warm light Nichia 519A emitter in 4000 kelvin. The Nichia 519A is also a high 95 CRI for much better colour rendition of the objects being lit

Visiting Sculpture By The Sea again this year after some covid hiatus. It’s become a foundation of our night time light painting extravaganza’s
As is often the case later at night to add a little light painting (without any of the typical crowds)
My plan this night was to shoot some star trails with a sculpture. The conditions looked pretty good. Predictions were for no clouds (at least till around midnight). The only hiccup was a small crescent moon to the west which wouldn’t set till just before midnight
The plan was to find a suitable sculpture and do a few light painting foregrounds before switching to astro mode (around 10PM) for an hour or two of trails
Until then I’d plan to light paint a few other sculptures. This is the first of those – a sculpture actually titled “Folly Interstice” by Tony Davis

To Infinity and Beyond
Staring out beyond the horizon…
This first from a sunset session at Long Jetty (actually this is the slightly shorter jetty to the left of Long Jetty)
I chose this jetty because… well it was closer and easier to walk to from where we were staying :). Plus the handrail looked a little better on this one. Plus it didn’t have those little steps going off to the side of the jetty at semi regular intervals
So a “cleaner” long jetty look, and I’m sticking with that 😉
