Flaming Mess
A lazy 500 seconds on and we have a flaming mess 🙂
Actually this is the first time I’ve tried using my new LED tube light. Here’s I’m trying (badly) to do some light plants
The tube I’m using is the Luxceo P7RGB Pro RGB Tube which I got on Amazon for about AUD$100. It is only 40cm long so it is probably less than ideal for this sort of work
It only outputs light out of one side of the tube and nothing out the end. You also can’t easily adjust it or even turn it on and off when you want while you’re using it. There’s a bluetooth phone app to control it and the colour it outputs
The tube light output is also very bright. So I had to make some pretty strong diffusion which I taped together to go over the tube. This means it won’t just blow out to white whilst using it in light painting scenarios like this
It does however have the ability to generate pretty much any colour you like. Easily selectable from a colour wheel on the bluetooth app. It also creates a very nice soft effect with the light when used for light painting. Allowing smooth transitions and soft edges. For a light plant you probably want harder edges but for other uses a soft light can be useful
Note: These photographs (especially the wider shots) look much better when larger. To see larger versions in an inline overlay slideshow gallery viewer click any of the images.
