Crowned
9:43PM and the moon is passing behind the tower. In 10 minutes it should come out the other side right at the top… Fingers crossed 🙂

Transition
Last night along with perhaps many thousands of others I photographed the total lunar eclipse and the blood moon
In planning a location to go to I knew peak viewing would begin around 9.15PM. This is when the moon would be fully covered by the earth’s shadow. And would last until around 10.40PM. This meant the moon would have about 3 hours after moonrise to rise up into the sky
So I needed a location which had tall structures (buildings) to include in my “foreground” along with the moon which would be quite high in the sky
PhotoPills to the rescue and I decided on using the new Crown Tower at Barangaroo. Shooting from across the water at Darling Island
This shot is from earlier at 9:27PM soon after the earth’s shadow fully eclipsed the moon. Here it’s transitioning from bottom right to top left across the sky. The shot I wanted with the moon at the Crown Towers peak wouldn’t occur till 9:55PM

Astral Kiss
A LOT (400 seconds) of green EL wire work 🙂
This artwork is actually titled “Our Love Touches The Sky” (Habana Yalmis Alsama) by artist Ayad Alqaragholli
This is my second favourite image (and the last) of our nights work at Sculpture by the Sea, Bondi 2022
1AM… definitely time to head home to bed…

Spilled Paint
This abstract looks a little like spilled paint to me. Floating 100 metres above Lake Mannering on the Central Coast
Beautiful to look at from way above, possibly a little more deadly in real life on the ground
When More is Not Enough

When More is Not Enough
I guess this is what happens when more is not enough
This is actually the merge of three separate steel wool spins by Gerry. Plus some of our usual light painting sillyness
I think the deep red canyon on the diagonal on the left worked really well. My blue EL wire effort at the front was a fail (because my EL wire failed mid way through :()
This is the last of my shots from our evening out with the Dee Why camera club
Note: These photographs (especially the wider shots) look much better when larger. To see larger versions in an inline overlay slideshow gallery viewer click any of the images.
