Thunder Creek Falls

We were on a very long drive from Fox Glacier to Wanaka this day. A winding road which heads down the West Coast which turns inland at Haast

We had intended to stop at quite a few more places this day but endless rain dampened the mood

The rain had backed off a touch by the time we’d arrived here at Thunder Creek Falls. It’s only a few minutes walk from the road so we braved the rain

It’s quite a pretty waterfall which heads straight into the passing Haast River

Glacier Flow

Well this river with glacial flow doesn’t look anywhere near as appealing as the bright blue rivers we’ve seen elsewhere :). Still has that milky look from ground up granite tho
