Lake Pearson
We were staying the night right on the shores of Lake Pearson. Our two motorhomes are amongst those clustered on the waters edge below. Of course more spectacular New Zealand mountains surrounding us in this valley

Castle Hill
Castle Hill is widely considered to be one of the best of New Zealand’s South Island climbing locations. On any given day one can find rock climbers bouldering the unique limestone outcroppings
A station nearby was also used for the filming of the climactic battle scenes of the 2005 movie, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

On our way towards Arthurs Pass to eventually head over the mountains to the west coast
We stopped at Castle Hill (also known as Kura Tawhiti by the indigenous Maori Tribe)
The hill was so named because of the imposing array of limestone boulders and monoliths in the area reminiscent of an old, run-down stone castle

Turquoise
Simply photographic paradise. The milky turquoise blue waters in New Zealand have to be seen to be believed. Even more interesting is the variation in different locations. Different shades and density to the blues but each rich and surprising none the less
