Bound for Middle Earth
What more can you say… We’re definitely bound for Middle Earth

Middle Kingdom
The 46km (45 minute drive) Glenorchy-Queenstown road hugs the edge of Lake Wakatipu and is in a word spectacular. Stupendous even
They say this is one of the top scenic drives in the world and it was easy to see why
We were staying at Twenty Five Mile Creek right on the waters edge. It’s actually 30km (or about 19 miles) from Queenstown so I’m not entirely sure what the 25 miles refers to 🙂
This is a 180˚ panoramic view taken from out in the middle of the lake looking back along the lakes edge

25 Mile Creek
We had one more night with our motorhomes so we drove right past Queenstown. Driving along the incredibly beautiful road which hugs Lake Wakatipu on the way to Glenorchy
We had planned to stay at the DOC Twelve Mile Delta Campsite but it was frankly very uninspiring
We took a chance an travelled further up the road to a free camp at Twenty Five Mile Stream
It’s a pretty small spot and there were already a few campervans here but there was space for us. The view here right next to the lake however was worth it. Amazing!
