Anchored
This is one of those classic Instagramable spots
The standalone Louis Vuitton luxury boutique store is connected to the main shopping mall both underground and via a boardwalk. Behind the store is a wooden platform floating in the bay. This alternative perspective of the Marina Bay skyline can be captured, with the boardwalk and the anchor serving as foreground
With a six stop ND64 stacked with a CPL and a 3 stop soft grad you can get a nice long exposure (almost 80 seconds in this case)
As the platform you are shooting on is floating you can basically only do a long exposure here when there aren’t moving boats creating waves in the bay; and when there aren’t people moving about on the platform. In my case at 7:20AM I had the platform to myself
I was keen to shoot here a bit after sunset; alas the few times I was around here around that time the platform had many other people on it

Helix
The Helix (pedestrian) bridge – allows you to easily cross from the Esplanade side of the bay to the Marina Bay Sands area. A steel footbridge, which opened in 2010, inspired by the curved form of the structure of DNA. Shooting it with pretty much no people likely only possible very early in the morning like this (or with very long exposures)
Note: These photographs (especially the wider shots) look much better when larger. To see larger versions in an inline overlay slideshow gallery viewer click any of the images.

Marina Bay
I’d walked around Marina Bay from Merlion Park towards the Helix bridge so I could shoot towards the city from the Marina Bay Sands side on the bay. This shot is pretty much right on sunrise. Yep lots of cloud so it was a pretty grey colourless morning
This is a pretty classic composition here in Singapore. With the Helix (pedestrian) bridge on the left, the MBS surfboard pointing towards us, the ArtScience museum (that upturned hand/flower looking building) in the middle and the city to the right

Singapore Dawn
Just before a very grey almost 100% overcast Singapore Dawn. This composition looking along the Jubilee bridge towards the city
