Narrow Neck
I joined a small group of Focus Photographers for a long weekend away in the cool Blue Mountains
First stop was a sunset shoot at Cahill’s Lookout at Katoomba
My very first exposures were for a four (vertical) frame stitched panorama of the view with late afternoon light streaking through some gaps in the cloud on the right

More Opera House goodness at Vivid Sydney 2023
The full set of 35 of our selected frames shot as beautiful clean long exposures (low base ISO and stopped down to f/9). The highly compressed animated gif really doesn’t do it justice. See some higher res captures on my blog

House of Naturalia
Another of the new projection locations at this years Vivid Sydney 2023 is Barangaroo House which has transformed into the “House of Naturalia”
Barangaroo House transformed into an oasis. Projected tendrils of moss intertwine with the building’s cascading plants, forming a luscious flowering garden. As we’re led to a cascading waterfall and dive into a colourful underwater world, we’re reminded of both nature’s tranquillity and power

Voiture 21
In chatting with the creator of this artwork (Milosh Luczynski) from France. I discovered that he’s been shooting these 360˚ video’s during his travels around the world for over 15 years
These days we have the super easy consumer cameras like the Insta360 range. Which make taking and producing full spherical 360˚ videos easy and automatic. However in the early days Milosh was creating his own 360 camera hardware from scratch!
Voiture 21 is projected on the walls of the abandoned tunnel at the end of The Goods Line (in UTS near the Central Station end of The Goods Line)

Monad
Around in Walsh Bay near Pier 1 this year is a Vivid installation titled Monad. Projected onto a mist of water from a series of jets, Monad floats as a 3D display mid-air
I chatted with the creator of the artwork (Anastasia Isachsen) whilst I was photographing this at this years vivid
