A lonesome single shroom appeared in our lawn one nice overcast day. Time to get out the new Nikkor Z 105mm macro. I also decided to use the Z7’s built in focus stacking mode (for the very first time :))
This was shot with 20 focus stacked frames. Starting at the front (nearest) edge of the delicate little fungi
I shot the frames at f/3.5 for a quick drop off in depth of field so I’d get a lovely bokeh blur for the background
In comparison the other image is a single frame taken at f/16. To get enough depth of field to cover the whole fungi. But as you can see the foreground and background especially is much less pleasing
