Panathenaic Stadium
The Panathenaic Stadium dates back to the 4th century B.C. and was the site of the first modern Olympic games in 1896 and remains the starting point of the Olympic flame torch relay. Made entirely of white marble

We met up with some friends from Sydney who were also in Athens and spent a few days visiting some of the historic sites (Ancient Agora, Roman Agora, Panathenaic Stadium, The Acropolis, Acropolis Museum and so on)

Stoa of Attalos
In the Stoa they also had an old school Camera Obscura (pinhole camera) setup showing a view of the Temple of Hephaestus. The first image is the projection inside the camera and the second the shot taken with my modern camera

Density
Some tight zoomed in views of the city of Athens taken from atop Filopappou Hill
There are no sky scrapers here like many other modern cities. I’d estimate the tallest buildings are perhaps 10 stories high. But the consistent density of buildings just goes on and on into the distance
