The Arch

NIKON Z6_3 + Viltrox AF 16/1.8 Z @ 16 mm, 15 sec at f/1.8, ISO 3200 x 3 Frames

A manually composed/adjusted three (horizontal) frame stitched panorama of the Milky Way arch over Lincoln’s Rock in the Blue Mountains. I didn’t have my pano rail with me so I had to just do the frames by eyeballing it

The Starlight mode on the new Z6 III really helps with doing this. You can actually see the milky way and the foreground rocks enough even in near darkness on the back LCD. This is just enough to adjust the camera on the ballhead manually to get the right overlapping framing for the individual frames for the panorama. Without this it would just be total guesswork and a likely busted panorama

Note: These photographs (especially the wider shots) look much better when larger. To see larger versions in an inline overlay slideshow gallery viewer click any of the images.
