Opera Australis
Another set of images which are only possible when freezing the frames of the fast paced animation on the Opera House sails
We preselected 35 frames during the sequence that we liked and played them back one minute for each at a time on each frame. So we could take nice clean images at base ISO, f/8 and a nice long shutter
This set is from down near the water at the overseas passenger terminal. The four projection towers are right above me so we get the beams from above and the nice colour reflections in the smoother harbour water below

Biotechture
Biotechture imagines what it would mean if our human-made structures were living and breathing
Peeling back the ASN Clock Tower’s facade, Biotechture is an otherworldly view into the arteries, bones and all behind the building. It’s also a reminder of the beautiful architecture that makes up both our city and the natural world

Barerarerungar
Barerarerungar means ‘Country’ in Boonwurrung, a language from Kulin Nation, where the artist Maree Clarke lives
On the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia facade, she features river reeds, a symbol representing safe travels and friendship

Life Enlivened
A sneak peek of Vivid Sydney 2023
I’ve been fortunate enough to have been shooting pre-release scenes at Vivid Sydney again this year
The late Australian artist John Olsen’s vibrant paintings of life and energy within the natural world will illuminate the Sydney Opera House’s sails from this Friday the 26th of May
The looping fast paced animated video sequence moves through ten distinct artworks over about ten minutes
The keen eyed amongst you may notice the unusual exposure settings for this capture. A 20 second long exposure at a very nice base ISO of 64 and a more closed down aperture of f/8
Alas one of the perks of being able to have the projection paused for a minute at a time at particular interesting frames allowing the shooting of nice clean static images 🙂
