Fort Canning Tree Tunnel is another of those popular Instagram locations. Indeed even arriving here just after 8AM there was a huge queue of people looking to capture this famous composition to post to their socials With a spiral staircase on the edge of Fort Canning Park, it is capped by this spectacular Yellow Rain Tree As I was by myself I didn’t need to worry about waiting in line to get a turn with my better half in it, so I just lay down in this spot and shot as others took their turn

This is one of those classic Instagramable spots

The standalone Louis Vuitton luxury boutique store is connected to the main shopping mall both underground and via a boardwalk. Behind the store is a wooden platform floating in the bay. This alternative perspective of the Marina Bay skyline can be captured, with the boardwalk and the anchor serving as foreground

With a six stop ND64 stacked with a CPL and a 3 stop soft grad you can get a nice long exposure (almost 80 seconds in this case)

As the platform you are shooting on is floating you can basically only do a long exposure here when there aren’t moving boats creating waves in the bay; and when there aren’t people moving about on the platform. In my case at 7:20AM I had the platform to myself

I was keen to shoot here a bit after sunset; alas the few times I was around here around that time the platform had many other people on it
