Slowed

NIKON Z 7 + NIKKOR Z 24-120mm f/4 S @ 79 mm, 1/4 sec at f/13, ISO 31

Louise and I wandered along the beach at Voudia on the greek island of Milos

It was essentially all pebbles of various sizes (no sand to speak of). The sizes ranged from tiny pebbles only a few mm across to fist sized ones and even a few up to 30cm across. However it was the variety of colours in the pebbles that was amazing. A literal rainbow of colours. It’s easy to see why when you look at the layers of colours in the rocky landscape that borders the waters edge

This a handheld longer exposure (to allow the water to streak nicely). Isn’t multiple stops of vibration reduction grand!

DJI Mini 3 Pro FC3582 + 6.7 mm f/1.7 @ 6.72 mm, 1/3000 sec at f/1.7, ISO 110 x 21 Frames

A 180˚ panoramic view from the headland overlooking Voudia Cove. In this image you can see some of the mining, processing facilities and cargo ship terminal on the left end of the beach

Louise was getting sick of waiting for me to finish flying the drone, so it was time to land and drive down to the parking area near the beach on the left and go for a walk along the beach 🙂

DJI Mini 3 Pro FC3582 + 6.7 mm f/1.7 @ 6.72 mm, 1/1600 sec at f/1.7, ISO 100

Looking down near Voudia beach on Milos, the colours are extraordinary. I guess that probably explains the level of mining (historical and present day) going on in this area

Voudia Curves

DJI Mini 3 Pro FC3582 + 6.7 mm f/1.7 @ 6.72 mm, 1/4000 sec at f/1.7, ISO 130

We drove to the other side of Milos island to check out Voudia beach. Which as it happens is right in the mining zone (bentonite, perlite and bauxite) of the island. What you can’t see in this somewhat “pristine” image is directly behind the drone is a large open mine, processing facilities and cargo ship terminal, and a stack of large mining trucks 🙂

Plathiena

DJI Mini 3 Pro FC3582 + 6.7 mm f/1.7 @ 6.72 mm, 1/2500 sec at f/1.7, ISO 110 x 21 Frames

Louise was keen to visit one of Milos’s many beaches. Not to swim… just to look 🙂

Plathiena was quite close to Plaka where we were staying (in fact I’d considered flying my drone over there from our accomodation). So we took a quick drive there and I flew out from the beach. This 180˚ panorama is a look back towards the beach from out at sea
